2026: A Good Year for New Book Releases!

Harrison Perkins’ new book Take and Eat: Recovering the Regular Celebration of the Lord’s Supper addresses the meaning and frequency of the Lord’s Supper. As Scott Clark so aptly puts it in his recommendation of Perkins’ new volume,“according to the Apostle Paul our Lord Jesus said, ‘Do this, as often as you drink it’ but we have often turned our Lord’s ‘as often’ into ‘as infrequently.’” Look for this one in April of 2026.

J. V. Fesko must live at his keyboard or stay up all night writing. He is cranking out new stuff at an incredible rate. His new book on Apologetics, Warring With Idols, does something near and dear to my heart—he does not continue the debate over apologetic method, but offers sound arguments one can use to answer the objections non-Christians raise frequently against the Christian faith. It is published by Lexham Press/Baker and is due out in July of 2026.

The next Warfield volume in the P & R series of re-edited and updated volumes of the old five volume Warfield set is due out in October 2026. Biblical and Theological Studies contains a number of what are Warfield’s most important and profound essays, including: “The Idea of Systematic Theology,“ “Christian Supernaturalism,” “The Biblical Doctrine of the Trinity,” “The Divine Messiah in the Old Testament,” “Imputation,” Predestination,” “On Faith in its Psychological Aspects,” and “The Prophecies of St. Paul,” among many others. Kudos to P & R and to the editor of the series, John Hughes, for doing stellar work and bringing these volumes back into print in modern and updated versions.

This commentary on the Westminster Confession from Crossway will address the history and significance of the WCF, as well as its theology and application. Contributors include J. V. Fesko (one of the editors), Sinclair Ferguson, Scott Swain, and Kevin DeYoung (along with several other notables). You’ll have to wait a bit for this one since the publication date is October, 2026.

And don’t forget Mike Horton’s Magician and Mechanic (which I discussed previously) which should be released soon.
